This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 01, 2008:
That my mother will survive in reasonable health and make it to see the new year.
As you may have read in previous blog entries, my mum is suffering from lung cancer and is currently in a stage where there are no possibilities to treat her for it anymore.
Last week, we have been able to celebrate her 70th birthday, though, which is something we did not even expect to be happening anymore. So we are grateful for the time that has been given to her, but at the same time sad about the inevitable future.

Anyone that has ever been through anything like this knows that this is a time when you and your family needs all of the love and support that can be given and when humans can't reach that spot just know that God can do anything. So we pray for peace and love for you and your family.

this life is not the end —
i've never had an experience like yours but i have the experience of expecting some people(not specific) around me to be a past in the nearest future and myself to be a past to others in future also,botomline…we'll all leave or lose someday.what matters is that we use every minute of our days to show or express our feelins(contempt or love) to all that needs to know cos no one knows which day is last.

I am sending love and light to your family during this difficult time. One of the hardest things to come to terms with in this life is its temporary nature, but like others have said, it is only the body that is temporal. There is no loss in divine mind. Nevertheless, the illusion of separation is painful, and we would rather not face what feels like loss to us. My heart goes out to you. I may be in your shoes someday, if I don't leave the physical before my parents.

Accept it all, all the emotions and thoughts that surface, without identifying with them. Consider ways of assisting your mother in consciously leaving her body. Essential oils of Frankincense, Lavender and Geranium are very helpful here. It is much like being born (the soul coming into another form - this time leaving the physical) and does not have to be traumatic.
Music can be a great support during the process. If you use music, make sure it is gentle, supportive music. It can add an extra dimension to this right of passage, and help your family and your mom gain insight in how to let go.
Bergkristal, roze kwarts en amethist werken verlichtend en ondersteunend. Deze (half)edelstenen kun je plaatsen ter hoogte van het hart (chakra). In mijn werk met mensen die stervende waren heb ik de kracht van deze stenen ervaren. Sommigen kwamen nog terug, knapten weer op totdat ze karmische zaken hadden voltooid. Anderen konden zonder trauma het fysieke achter zich laten. Het werkt voor veel mensen ook kalmerend om de stenen in de hand te houden.

Thanks all for your heartwarming comments! You prove that we as human beings can bring out the divine in ourselves by standing around people in need. As my mother said several times, she is being carried by the people around her. And you prove that that is the truth!
